What will a session look like?
Treatment for symptoms of anxiety and/or depression will vary per person.
If you are seeking therapy for symptoms of anxiety, depression, or a combination of the two, you might be wondering what a typical session will look like. While treatment planning will be individualized, we'll always start off with assessing your primary concerns, how symptoms are impacting your life, current coping mechanisms, and relevant background history.

From there, we'll focus on identifying contributing factors. For some, these symptoms have been life long. For others, an event or life change may have caused or increased the symptoms. Utilizing a multi-modality approach, I will often incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, coping exercises and motivational interviewing.

For some individuals dealing with anxiety, incorporating methods of exposure therapy can be useful in preparing ourselves to handle anxiety-inducing scenarios. In my practice, I incorporate these opportunities in a manner that allows you to explore in a safe, controlled environment.
