Mind & Body Connection
The "Mind-Body Connection" refers to the theory that our beliefs, perceptions and mental well-being impacts our physical health, and vice versa. To work towards an overall improved quality of life, we can focus on increasing the mind body connection.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a practice that dates back centuries, starting with roots in Buddhism. Since then, it has been integrated into Westernized culture and utilized in therapeutic practices. Mindfulness is a cognitive practice focused on acceptance and awareness.

Exercises to increase mindfulness can improve the mind body connection, allowing us to be more connected to ourselves and gain skills to identify when our thought processes, reactions and physical self experience changes, stress and new information.

Common mindfulness practices you might be familiar with include meditation, body scans and breathing exercises. The practice of mindfulness can also be applied to everyday activities that increase tension for some, including social interactions, learning, eating and more.
