Stress & Life Transitions

It's normal for everyone to experience stress at some point(s) during their lives, but sometimes stressful events and major life changes are more impactful than usual. Incorporating therapy can be a self-care tool to increase coping skills, refocus, and identify your strengths.

What Will A Typical Session Look Like?

We'll begin by taking the time to discuss you. Assessing your goals, reasons for seeking therapy and relevant background information will help give me a full picture. Often, when we're navigating increased stressors, there may be systemic issues at play. Your experience will be accepted, not judged.

After initial assessment, we'll discuss what coping skills you're using so far. From there, we'll take a look at the core stressor(s). I utilize a strengths based perspective with clients tackling life changes- we may not always be able to change the situation, but we can use our strengths to handle the challenges. I incorporate mindfulness exercises and ways to utilize the mind body connection.

Biofeedback is also a potential tool to incorporate into our session work.
